# Automatic data upload?

Hi, Who can my trust approach about exploring whether patient demographic data can be automatically uploaded from our EMR?

This feature is on the road map. But we are still some way from implementation. Issues to think about include
1. exposing and testing the api end points for patient creation / updating / deleting, +/- registering with a first paediatric assessment date (these are largely down in the code already), but that maybe is the easy bit.
2. agreeing credentials - especially, how would the API keys be scoped to the trusts etc
3. documentation
4. as this is patient data going over the wire, it would need some kind of encryption?

@Neisha yes, I think initially a direct conversation between your IT team and our development team would be ideal for understanding what stage they are at in being able to submit patient demographic data automatically to E12 via the API. It will certainly help inform our rollout of the API feature to work with an integration partner.
