# Calling the Growth Charts API with my key (seems to be invalid), how do I/can I regenerate it?

Experimenting with the charts.  API appears invalid?  Can I regenerate it?  Does it expire if not used for a long time?

Error msg is:

Hello RCPCH Tech Team,

I’m currently integrating the RCPCH Growth API into a clinical growth‑chart calculator, but I’m running into an issue where the API returns:

I’ve confirmed that my proxy and request format are correct, so it appears that my existing API key is no longer valid. I also noticed that the previous developer portal URLs (e.g., `/developer`, `/developer/profile`, `/portal`) now return 404, and I cannot find any way to view or regenerate my API keys.

Could you please:

1. Confirm the correct URL for the **current RCPCH API developer portal**, and

2. Enable my account for API access or issue a new valid subscription key?

Hi @drchin and sorry for the slow response. We have been gradually trying to escape from the Azure Developer portal and instead manage API keys inside DIscourse, although this is stilla bit of a Work In Progress.

To get you going right away, I've checked [your API key in Discourse](https://forum.rcpch.tech/u/drchin/apim) and it appears to be incorrect compared with what is in our backend API Management system.

For security I'll email you with the correct API key.

The API baseUrl is documented here https://growth.rcpch.ac.uk/integrator/making-api-calls/ and it hasn't changed.

I tested the API using this baseUrl and your API key and it is working for me now. Please let me know if you experience any further problems.
